HilverdaFlorist and DIEM Breeding join forces for Hibiscus D-Tahiti®
ShareShareShareShareShare

HilverdaFlorist and DIEM Breeding, the Italian breeder of Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis, are proud to announce a strategic partnership for the worldwide sales of Hibiscus series D-Tahiti®. In this partnership, HilverdaFlorist will take on the cutting production and commercial activities, while DIEM Breeding will focus on the further breeding of this high-quality Hibiscus line.

Conducting sales through HilverdaFlorist’s established, international network gives DIEM Breeding the space to fully focus on breeding and selection. HilverdaFlorist also takes care of the cuttings production of Hibiscus D-Tahiti® at their production facility in Kenya and global marketing. The plants will be enhanced with catchy branding and matching retail promotional materials targeted at consumers.

‘DIEM Breeding is an absolute specialist in Hibiscus breeding,’ says Sjaak Sijm, Commercial Team Lead at HilverdaFlorist. ‘This cooperation strengthens our portfolio with a proven and recognisable product for our customers. This is a great opportunity to jointly further strengthen the Hibiscus D-Tahiti® proposition internationally.’ With this cooperation, both parties combine their strengths: in-depth breeding knowledge of DIEM Breeding combined with the global network, commercial strength and production capacity of HilverdaFlorist.

‘We see HilverdaFlorist as loyal and specialized partner for the development of our genetics’, says Alexandro Bock, commercial responsible of DIEM Breeding. ‘We are excited to start this cooperation to present and develop our Hibiscus genetics worldwide. We now have all the possibilities to increase our effort in breeding specific and diverse lines that could satisfy different type of customers around the world.’

About Hibiscus D-Tahiti®: powerful and full of colour
The D-Tahiti® Series consists of genetically compact varieties that branch very easily and are therefore suitable for a wide range of applications – from garden and patio plants and indoor plants to topiary plants. The plants bloom profusely from spring to autumn with large, eye-catching flowers in both solid colours and striking bicoloured varieties. The elegant flowers have a life span of 2-3 days, which is perfectly balanced with the constant production of new flowers.

Discover Hibiscus D-Tahiti® at FlowerTrials® 2025!
Visit HilverdaFlorist during FlowerTrials® 2025 from June 10th to 13th and be inspired by this impressive Hibiscus series. Our team will be on hand to tell you all about the growing benefits, applications and range of Hibiscus D-Tahiti®.

HilverdaFlorist focuses on breeding, propagation and the cultivation of young plants for a wide range of cut flowers, potted and garden plants. With a trusted, global network of subsidiaries, distribution partners and production locations, HilverdaFlorist offers local support and high-quality young plant material, suitable for every climate and ever-changing growing conditions.

DIEM Breeding specializes in breeding and selecting Hibiscus varieties, particularly Hibiscus Rosa-sinensis. Now in its fourth generation, DIEM Breeding benefits from Borgo Grappa’s favorable climate in Latina, Italy. This area is recognized and chosen by many horticultural producers for its ideal cultivation conditions.
