EIMA International: the “innovation factory” breaks all records
ShareShareShareShareShare

The 47th edition of the agricultural machinery exhibition, held at the Bologna Exhibition Centre from 10 to 14 November, gets off to a flying start. Requests for exhibition space already exceed the venue’s capacity. Technical and economic-political content – says Simona Rapastella – to “design” the new agriculture. Among the new features of this edition are the earlier opening on Tuesday and the closing on Saturday evening.

In just two months since registrations opened on November 20, EIMA International has seen a remarkable surge in bookings, with demand from exhibiting companies already exceeding the available space in the Bologna exhibition centre. The international agricultural machinery show – scheduled for 10 to 14 November, from Tuesday to Saturday – is shaping up to be a record-breaking edition. The Event Management Office of FederUnacoma – the Italian Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers, which organizes the exhibition – will now have to fine-tune the allocation of exhibition space to accommodate the requests that continue to arrive, working on the layout of the stands for an event that promises to match the “top” results of the previous edition held in November 2024, when 1,750 companies took part and visitor numbers exceeded 350,000 from 150 countries.

This year’s edition upholds the exhibition’s customary format, which offers 14 specialized sectors and seven thematic Showcases (“Energy”, “Components”, “Idrotech”, “Digital” and “Green”, joined by the new “EIMA Extend” and “EIMA Campus”), and confirms the outdoor dynamic demonstrations in the EIMA Energy areas, Tractor of the Year, Garden E-motion, Contoterzista Driver Trophy, as well as REAL, the arena dedicated to robots and highly automated machines.

“The exhibition retains its distinctive features,” explained FederUnacoma Director General Simona Rapastella during the presentation press conference, held this afternoon via international streaming, “but it is constantly evolving in terms of content, spatial organization and services.”
“This year we will give greater prominence to the EIMA Extend Salon, reserved for institutions, professional organizations and all players in the supply chain,” Rapastella said, “and we will have the new Hall 35 available, which BolognaFiere is building to the highest architectural and functional standards; there will be a new organization of the outdoor demonstration areas and enhanced welcome services.”

The Bologna exhibition will focus on technological innovation, with the Technical Innovations competition, whose awards ceremony will take place on 1 October at Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna, 40 days before the opening of the exhibition. The EIMA Social Awards ceremony – the competition dedicated to ‘social’ communication initiatives promoted by exhibiting companies, which enjoyed great success in the previous edition – will instead be held on 13 November.

The programme of conferences and meetings is particularly rich (around 150 events are planned, as in the 2024 edition), covering technical topics as well as political issues and economic and geopolitical scenarios that influence the development of agriculture and mechanization.

“This will make it possible to focus on sector-related issues and policies on an international scale,” added the Director General of FederUnacoma, “and this is a highly qualifying aspect for an exhibition that sees a constant increase in the number of foreign operators, that welcomes official ICE delegations from more than 80 countries, and that hosts internationally recognized bodies such as the Club of Bologna.”

“The task of agricultural mechanization is to enable those productivity and sustainability strategies that are now vital for the planet’s future,” concluded Rapastella. “And EIMA’s mission is to help outline the guidelines for agricultural development, as expressed in the theme chosen for this edition: ‘Design the Agricultural Future.’” “Today’s press conference opens the international ‘road map’ for the launch of EIMA, which includes 20 press conferences and meetings in Italy and abroad. Among the countries already scheduled in the presentation tour are Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Greece, Morocco, Poland, Spain, Serbia, the United States, and Uzbekistan.”
