Case IH Updates Axial-Flow 160 Series with Advanced Technology
ShareShareShareShareShare

Latest factory-fit technology and integrated automation enhance performance / Dual Pro 1200 displays improve control and visibility / Advanced guidance and data sharing boost field efficiency / Upgraded grain handling and feeder options support consistent harvest performance

Case IH introduces significant updates for its Axial-Flow® 160 series combines for Model Year 2027, delivering the latest factory-fit technology, including enhanced automation, connectivity and operator comfort for the Class 6 and 7 segments.

Designed to further simplify harvesting while increasing performance and connectivity, the new Axial-Flow 160 series combine reinforces Case IH’s commitment to productivity, reliability, and ease of use across all farm sizes.

Building on the 2024 launch of the Axial-Flow 160 series, when Case IH introduced its Harvest Command™ combine automation technology from flagship machines into the mid-range segment, the latest updates further advance machine intelligence and digital capabilities.

Next-generation architecture for smarter harvesting

To support faster decision-making and improved machine uptime, the Model Year 2027 update introduces an upgraded on- and offboard technology suite, enabling enhanced automation, connectivity and precision farming capabilities.

This upgrade supports faster data processing, improved diagnostics and seamless integration with digital tools, while enabling remote support capabilities that help reduce service trips and minimize downtime during harvest.

Advanced Pro 1200 dual display interface enhances operator control

The updated Axial-Flow 160 series features Pro 1200 dual displays, offering an intuitive, tablet-like experience. Operators benefit from:

  • Customisable layouts and multi-touch controls
  • Simultaneous machine and agronomic data visibility
  • Remote Display Viewing that allows operators and support teams to monitor and assist in real-time
  • Advanced diagnostics to help identify and address service needs earlier
  • Integrated Harvest Command combine automation technology, AccuGuide™ auto guidance and real-time yield monitoring

By separating machine control and agronomic data across two displays, the system improves situational awareness and reduces operator workload during long harvesting days.

Expanded precision and connectivity capabilities

The updated Axial-Flow 160 series introduces upgraded precision farming features, including the new Vector Pro receiver for enhanced guidance accuracy, even in challenging field conditions. Connectivity Included provides connectivity for the lifetime of the modem with no subscription fees or renewals.

Additional technologies include AccuSync™ for real-time data sharing between multiple machines and AccuTurn™ for automated headland turning. Flexible Technology Packages allow customers to tailor automation and connectivity levels to their needs.

Improved grain handling and harvesting performance

Enhancements to core harvesting functions further increase efficiency and crop quality. A new cross-auger clutch enables independent control of the unloading system, allowing the unloading auger to be fully emptied and reducing grain loss during unloading on the go.

An optional two-speed feeder drive optimises crop flow across varying conditions, while a new concave configuration improves performance in high-moisture crops. Enhanced sensor systems deliver more accurate monitoring of key machine parameters. These improvements help ensure consistent throughput and reliable performance across changing field conditions.

Enhanced operator comfort and usability

The Axial-Flow 160 series delivers an upgraded operator environment aligned with the 260 series cab design and architecture, including the Pro 1200 display, identified by the Pro decal.

Operator comfort remains a key focus, with a redesigned cab interior aligned with Case IH flagship combine design. The updated colour scheme and improved layout create a more ergonomic and modern working environment.

Further refinements include improved air conditioning airflow management and additional camera inputs, contributing to better visibility, comfort, and overall ease of operation.

“With the latest updates to the Axial-Flow 160 series, we are bringing advanced automation, connectivity and operator experience into the mid-range segment,” said Andreas Saile, EMEA Product Manager Harvesting.

“These combines continue to embody the simplicity of Axial-Flow design while integrating the technologies needed to maximise productivity, crop quality and return on investment for today’s farmers.”

After successful field testing last season, the upgraded Axial-Flow 160 series combine is now being introduced at exclusive events across Europe, ahead of its first public appearance at a major international exhibition at EIMA in Bologna in November 2026. Series production is set to begin in July, enabling first deliveries to customers by the end of the third quarter.
