Onedayone Group, an international fresh produce supply chain company, and Francaise Food, a Saudi fresh produce importer and distributor with more than 40 years in the market, announced a partnership to bring a broader range of specialty fruits from China and wider Asia, together with premium Chinese mushrooms, to retailers across Saudi Arabia.
As Saudi Arabia’s young consumer base continues to grow and organised retail evolves, demand for premium, healthy and differentiated fresh produce is reshaping the category. Beyond traditional lines such as apples, oranges and bananas, Asian specialty fruits including lychee, longan, Shine Muscat grapes, passion fruit and winter jujube are becoming an important growth area for retailers, creating new opportunities to diversify assortments and meet changing consumer preferences.

Francaise Food brings four decades of importing and distributing fresh produce in the Kingdom. The company handles importation, customs clearance and temperature-controlled distribution from its facilities in Jeddah and Riyadh, and supplies the Kingdom’s leading grocery retailers and hospitality groups. Onedayone Group contributes its global sourcing network spanning China and other major producing regions, together with its international supply chain capabilities. By coordinating seasonal production across multiple origins, the partnership aims to improve year-round availability, shorten the time from harvest to shelf, and deliver fresher products to consumers.
The partnership will also expand the availability of premium Chinese mushrooms in the Saudi market. China’s mushroom industry has made significant advances in standardised cultivation, quality management and export capability in recent years, and now offers retailers consistent quality, reliable supply and strong value. Alongside established European supply, this broadens the range of premium mushroom products available to Saudi retailers and consumers.
“Consumer demand is redefining the fresh produce category,” said Maggie Peng, Chief Representative for the Middle East, Onedayone Group. “Today’s consumers are looking not only for freshness, but for quality, uniqueness and new eating experiences. By combining global sourcing capabilities with Francaise Food’s deep understanding of the Saudi market, we aim to bring more Asian specialty fruits and premium Chinese mushrooms into everyday retail, while helping retailers build more differentiated fresh produce offerings.”
“Francaise Food has been importing fresh produce into Saudi Arabia since 1985, and this market has changed more in the past few years than in the two decades before it,” said Fares Alzahrawi, Chairman and Founder, Francaise Food Company. “Saudi consumers are ready for these products. What has been missing is consistent supply at the right quality across the full season. Our part of this partnership is the import, the cold chain and the retail execution inside the Kingdom. Onedayone’s is the origin and the growing calendar. Between us, retailers get a category they can plan around rather than one that appears for a few weeks and disappears.”
