Africa Food Show Kenya 2026 and The Hotel Expo Kenya 2026 Conclude Successfully with Strong Trade Outcomes
ShareShareShareShareShare

The 4th Africa Food Show Kenya, co-located with The Hotel Expo Kenya 2026, successfully concluded at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi, following three days of business, knowledge exchange, networking, and industry engagement.

Organised by MIE Events FZCO and co-organised by Global Exhibitions Inc. (GEX), the event brought together government leaders, industry professionals, exhibitors, investors, buyers, and international delegations from across the food, agriculture, beverage, and hospitality sectors.

MIE Events sincerely thanks all sponsors, partners, exhibitors, speakers, media partners, buyers, and delegates whose participation helped create meaningful business connections and commercial opportunities across Africa’s food, beverage, agribusiness, and hospitality value chains.

The exhibitions were honoured by the presence of Mrs. Mercy Wanjau, EGH, Secretary to the Cabinet of the Republic of Kenya, who served as Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address at the official opening ceremony.

Her participation highlighted the strategic importance of the exhibitions in advancing food security, agro-industrialisation, hospitality development, and investment, while reinforcing Kenya’s position as a gateway to the wider East African market.

Strong National Policy and Institutional Support

The 2026 edition was strengthened by the support of Kenya’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, aligning the exhibitions with national priorities in food security, agro-industrialisation, investment, technology transfer, and value addition.

The Ministry of Health, Republic of Kenya, also contributed to the programme, reinforcing the importance of nutrition, healthy diets, food safety, and integrated food systems.

The participation of these government institutions connected exhibitors, investors, international delegations, and industry stakeholders with key policymakers and market opportunities supporting Kenya Vision 2030 and the African Union Agenda 2063.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) added an international perspective, highlighting priorities including sustainable food production, food safety, post-harvest loss reduction, climate resilience, and healthier food systems.

Together, these partnerships strengthened the exhibitions as a platform where policy, investment, innovation, knowledge, and trade converge.

The 2026 Edition at a Glance

  • 8,000+ Visitors and Trade Buyers
  • 200+ Exhibitors
  • 100+ Industry Speakers
  • 300+ Pre-Scheduled B2B Meetings
  • 25+ Participating Countries
  • 20+ Conference Sessions

National and Regional Pavilions

The Africa Food Show Kenya featured dedicated international pavilions that brought organised, government-backed supplier groups directly to Kenyan and regional buyers.

Participating pavilions included:

  • South Africa – Small Enterprise Development Finance Agency (SEDFA)
  • South Africa – Western Cape Department of Agriculture
  • Malaysia – Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA)
  • Egypt – Arab Federation for Dates

These pavilions provided African and international producers and exporters with structured access to East African distribution channels, retail buyers, hospitality procurement teams, and food service operators, while giving visitors a broader view of regional and international supply capabilities across fresh produce, processed foods, beverages, and agricultural inputs.

Three Days of Trade, Knowledge Exchange, and Business Matchmaking

Across three days, the exhibitions featured conference sessions, keynote presentations, panel discussions, technical showcases, live demonstrations, business meetings, and networking opportunities focused on key priorities including food security, agro-processing, logistics, food safety, hospitality investment, culinary innovation, and sustainable development.

Exhibitors and buyers connected through product demonstrations, sampling, business matchmaking, and commercial discussions, creating opportunities for new sourcing relationships, distribution agreements, and cross-border partnerships.

The co-located format further strengthened connections between food and beverage suppliers and hospitality procurement decision-makers, creating opportunities across the wider food-to-hospitality value chain.

The Hotel Expo Kenya 2026 complemented the programme with solutions covering hotel technology, furnishings, kitchen equipment, energy and water efficiency, security, guest amenities, and professional services for hotel developers, owners, and operators.

Institutional and Industry Support

The exhibitions received valuable support from leading government agencies, trade authorities, and industry organisations, including:

  • Kenya Tourism Board
  • Kenya Chinese Chamber of Commerce
  • Tea & Coffee Association
  • International Trade Council

Their participation further strengthened the exhibitions as a B2B platform connecting food, beverage, agribusiness, and hospitality stakeholders and extending exhibitor engagement beyond the exhibition floor.

Looking Ahead to 2027

Building on the success of the 2026 edition, MIE Events FZCO will return to KICC Nairobi in 2027 for the 5th Africa Food Show Kenya, again co-located with The Hotel Expo Kenya.

Dates will be announced soon, with priority rebooking now open to 2026 exhibitors.

The 2027 edition will focus on expanded national pavilions, a stronger hosted buyer and B2B matchmaking programme, enhanced conference content, and deeper opportunities across Africa’s agriculture, food, beverage, and hospitality industries.

The event will continue connecting exhibitors in Nairobi with wider markets across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and North America, creating a platform where producers meet buyers, technology meets opportunity, and partnerships become trade.
