Selecta One With a Strong Showing at the FlowerTrials®
ShareShareShareShareShare

In calendar week 24, Flowers Trials® will once again open its doors to professional visitors from the international horticultural sector. As usual, Selecta will be exhibiting at its site at Kwekerij Bloem & Tuin (Oudecampsweg 4, 2678 KN De Lier, Netherlands) – alongside Evanthia and, for the first time, Morel Cyclamen.

VisItors can look forward to an informative event featuring a wide variety of product presentations and impressively staged exhibition areas. The extensive range will be showcased in various product formats, offering a comprehensive overview of the current portfolio.

An updated exhibition concept highlights the popular range of bedding and balcony plants, as well as perennials. The display is complemented by pot carnations, chrysanthemums and selected cut flowers.

Selecta invites industry professionals to visit the exhibition to learn about new products and developments in its range and to take the opportunity to speak directly with the experts.

RCS® 2.0 – the future of plant production

RCS® 2.0, the groundbreaking rooting system, will be presented in detail in its own dedicated display area. RCS® 2.0 roots cuttings directly in biodegradable cellulose bags – entirely without substrate. The substrate-free design and compact size achieve a favourable volume-to-weight ratio and particularly efficient RC logistics. The young plants, packaged in paper bags, impress with their quality and can be processed smoothly, either manually or automatically. Innovative, sustainable, award-winning!

Chrysanthemums

This year, Selecta is placing a particular focus on its extensive range of chrysanthemums. For the first time, a spacious display area will be set up at FlowerTrials®, showcasing the full colour palette and the variety of available cultivars. Selecta one offers a special selection of pot chrysanthemums that are ideal for year-round production.

Petunia Spice Pearls®

The Spice Pearls® petunia series is characterised by exceptional uniformity, compact, well-branched growth and outstanding early maturity. The simultaneous, early flowering of all varieties ensures a visually striking display that drives sales. Thanks to its easily manageable growth habit, the series remains highly controllable and retains its attractive shape for a long time, even when fully mature at the grower’s premises. Day-length neutrality enables early cultivation and sales dates, whilst the high shelf life and sustained flowering ensure a particularly long sales window. For a harmonious, market-attractive range with sustained sales success. Spice Pearls® are presented in a dedicated display area, including a photo point.

Dahlia Dalaya® Garden

As the name suggests, the Dalaya® Garden dahlia series is ideal for planting in the garden. All varieties are characterised by a medium-height habit with a rounded, very bushy growth habit and high resistance to powdery mildew. In addition to the varieties of standard colours, the particularly attractive two-tone varieties are also worth highlighting, with green and dark bronze foliage and abundant, long-lasting blooms until the first frosts begin.

Calibrachoa Fresh & Fruity

The large-flowered Fresh & Fruity varieties are a special type of Calibrachoa, ideal for mixed plantings. These two-tone varieties, with their large centres and perfect branching, cover the entire summer colour palette, and their names really get you in the mood for summer.

One in Dianthus

With ‘One in Dianthus’, Selecta one offers a year-round pot? carnation range suitable for all occasions and international markets. The focus is on sustainability: all cuttings (URC, RC, MiniRooter®) are produced without peat. As a cold-culture system, they also enable energy and cost savings and require little to no use of growth inhibitors. Also new to the range are Dianthus cuttings as RCS® 2.0.

Dianthus GRANDE

At FlowerTrials®, Selecta is presenting the new GRANDE series. It features large-flowered carnations in a classic style and has been specially developed for medium to large pots. The series comprises seven harmoniously coordinated colours and adds an attractive, versatile option to the Dianthus range. In addition to its impressively large flowers, GRANDE stands out for its vigorous growth and excellent branching. Ideal for marketing in spring and summer, this high-performing series opens up new presentation possibilities.

Dianthus Red-around-the-clock

Red-around-the-clock is a new variety of dianthus in a deep red with exceptional colour stability. It impresses with its long-lasting blooms, which retain their radiance. The variety is also characterised by excellent plant quality and uniform, abundant flowering. Thanks to its exceptional colour intensity, it is ideal for special promotions and, as a real eye-catcher, adds a striking touch to any Dianthus range.

Dianthus Alpine® It-Girl®

It-Girl®, last year’s FleuroStar nominee, is now right at the heart of the action, true to its motto. This compact perennial carnation from the Alpine® series in the Whetman range captivates with its bright pink flowers, elegant grey-green foliage, intense fragrance and high tolerance to drought. It is insect-friendly, hardy and flowers several times a year – ensuring long-lasting interest in the border or pot.

Traditionally, all FleuroStar entries in the current competition are showcased at the Selecta site, and the Stuttgart-based breeding company’s own entry will also be on show for the first time at the FlowerTrials®.

Various photo spots offer an interactive tour of the variety show and invite visitors to capture the highlights of the varieties in the perfect setting
