Dr. Eckel Animal Nutrition has successfully started its 2024 World Tour with an inspiring conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. Bringing together over 100 professionals from Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, the gathering marked the beginning of an exciting series focused on the future of sustainable animal production. The Dr. Eckel team was particularly honoured by the presence of Mr. Tarlan Asgarov, Head of the Livestock Organization and Monitoring Department at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as Mr. Heiko Schwarz, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Azerbaijan; and Ms. Aytekin Sirayzade, Acting / Deputy Executive Director of the German Chamber of Foreign Trade in Azerbaijan. The conference featured a number of insightful presentations, starting with Managing Director Dr. Viktor Eckel on Sustainability as strategy: Winning the future of livestock production. In his keynote speech, Viktor Eckel emphasised the importance of anchoring sustainability in corporate strategies. His clear message was that this is the key to securing long-term success in the livestock industry.
Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Windisch, Professor emeritus at the Technical University of Munich, delivered the engaging lecture, Can we do without livestock? Why the circular economy is the only way to feed the world. His captivating, forward-looking presentation made it unmistakably clear to all participants why we must rely on the principles of the circular economy in order to be able to feed the growing world population sustainably and safely.
Dr. Elisabeth Holl, Senior Technical Manager and one of the most experienced experts in the Dr. Eckel team, focused her presentation Straight from the gut: Sustainable success in poultry production on improving gut health in poultry. She highlighted the central role of the digestive system for sustainable and efficient production and presented a product solution that can achieve convincing results on a natural basis.
