The CHA will once again host a UK exhibitor group at Fruit Logistica, bringing a variety of businesses to the event who will provide innovation and inspiration to growers and suppliers from around the world.Fruit Logistica draws 2,700 exhibitors and 66,000 visitors from 145 countries, bringing the biggest industry players together as a meeting place for contacts but also as a driver of innovation and a source of information. The fair covers the entire value chain, from producer to consumer, from point of seed to point of sale.
The UK group includes companies at the forefront of innovative solutions, including ‘ECHO’, the 100% plastic free fruit pad from ECHO Bio-C and RYPEN Technology from RYPEN, which selectively absorbs ethylene, the plant ripening hormone. Exhibiting alongside will be Richardson’s Jersey Royals – famously delicious, hand-picked Jersey Royal New Potatoes grown using liquid seaweed, lifted at the optimal time for flavour, fresh water washed, coated with coir and packed into heat-sealed moisture-retaining kraft paper packaging.
Companies who source and supply fresh produce from the UK and around the world will also be part of the British group. Primafruit works with Britain’s best known retailers to deliver high quality fresh fruit, while Fresh4U Products exports apples to Asia and Latin America.“We are excited to be back with our UK exhibitor group at Fruit Logistica,” commented Event Manager Lydia Stubbs. “Our prime location in Hall 5.2 always sees great footfall and delivers contacts from around the world. Stand 5.2 B22 www.elliottabsorbents.co.uk
Introducing ‘ECHO’, the 100% plastic-free fruit pad utilising 2nd harvest technology by Tensei.Made from crop waste, ECHO allows farmers to recycle their crop waste to make pads that absorb droplets across their surface area, negating fungal rot. The embossed surface of the pad adds cushioning to avoid fruit bruising. As it is constructed from pure crop cellulose, it breaks down in three months in soil to humus. The reduction in plastic waste in the UK is several thousand tonnes per year.

D A Richardson Ltd brings ‘Richardson’s Jersey Royals’ to the European market. Famously delicious, hand-picked Jersey Royal New Potatoes are grown using liquid seaweed, lifted at the optimal time for flavour, fresh water washed, coated with coir and packed into heat-sealed moisture retaining kraft paper packaging, Richardson’s is getting the attention of buyers all over the UK. At picking, immediate washing and application of coir ensures the potatoes appear virtually untouched, enhancing flavour and making them easy to prepare. The company’s system is unique globally and is gaining recognition as the ultimate system to deliver top quality new potatoes to market.
RYPEN
Stand 5.2 B24
The RYPEN Technology selectively absorbs ethylene -the plant ripening hormone – to gently slow the ripening process, reducing wastage and minimising condition deterioration during storage, transit and retail of fresh produce. RYPEN can be coated or extruded, simplifying its integration into packaging formats already in use by the industry. The technology and the current packaging formats being manufactured by It’s Fresh are highly suitable for raspberries, blueberries, grapes, stone fruit, avocados, cherries, Tenderstem® broccoli and fresh cut fruit. RYPEN does not use chemical oxidation or biochemical alteration, allowing fruit to continue ripening – but more slowly – for maximum potential flavour development.
