“Busy, colourful, a positive atmosphere and lots of interesting products are some of the things that come to mind if we look back to FlowerTrials 2018,” according to Denise van Kampen, responsible for Marketing at PanAmerican Seed in Europe. “We are happy that we could welcome almost 1,600 visitors from 55 countries all over the world. Distributors, growers, retailers, journalists and other flower fanatics all found their way to our FlowerTrials event in Rijsenhout during week 24 (June 12 to June 15).”
This year the theme of our show was “Colour your World” and that is exactly what you can do with the 500+ varieties shown in our bench and display presentations. Our goal was to give a good representation of our assortment of annuals, perennials, pot plants, cut flowers, and vegetables and herbs. With over 2500 products to choose from this is a difficult job, but we think we gave a good overview of what we have to offer.
Compared to last year, we focused on improving the look and feel of the event by adding more colour, focused presentations and clear communication. We decided to include the outside area more to the show by presenting part of our perennial assortment, and to have a separate area with all our new varieties. We received lots of compliments on this and especially on how we presented our Pansy Cool Wave and Petunia Wave series. Visitors appreciated that you could look on top of each plant and really see the differences in plant habit of the Wave, Tidal Wave and Easy Wave petunias.
Highlights of the show include the new Petunia Easy Wave Red improved and Violet improved, perennial product Coreopsis Double the Sun, line extensions in Zinnia Double Zahara, and the new Vinca Tattoo and Dianthus Corona series. PanAmerican Seed also took the opportunity to present their series of Celosia cut flowers – Celosia Neo, Sunday and Celway – and their newly acquired product lines of Dahlia Dalina®.
